Flow 2 - Happy Birthday // Happy Wrist Flow !
Happy January 19 !!!
The birthday of two incredible women in my life - both equally beautiful, strong, and intelligent: my sister Ashlinn and my grandmother Clara. Sadly, this will be the first year we celebrate only Ashi’s birthday and remember our wonderful Nana in heaven. As much as I miss you Nana, I see your grace and independence reflected in my talented sister.
Last year for her birthday, I gave Ashlinn the gift of running - well let me elaborate, I signed her up for a half marathon and we did a training program together! Haha, worst gift ever some may (and did) say - well, as always - Ashi rose to the challenge and annihilated her very first (LONG) race with me at Disney in 2018. She is still running and is quite the natural.
This year to carry on with gifting wellness, I came up with another ‘themed’ gift for my wonderful sister. There is no better gift, in my opinion, that the gift of yoga!
But that is not all! A few years ago my badass sister fractured her wrist in a motorcycle accident. Since then she has struggled with wrist extension and bearing any weight through the hands. Of course, this has made yoga difficult for her. In an attempt to show that yoga really is for everyone and every BODY I have created a Happy Birthday Happy Wrist Flow with props and modifications that make yoga accessible to individuals with wrist mobility issues.
With any physical exercise, listen to your body - be mindful of what feels good and what isn’t right for you. Please ensure that your medical professional has cleared you for this kind of physical activity.
Enjoy the flow yogis and thank you for being patient as I continue to learn the ins and outs of video recording, uploading, and editing long videos. What are your favorite modifications for wrist issues? Share in the comments below.
